18 Months - Climbing Like a Monkey

18 Months?  Halfway to 2?  Little man is getting so big!  Here is what he has been up to lately:

Size:  At his 18-month well visit last Friday (where he cried pretty much the entire time we were at the doctor's office) he weighed 25 pounds, 5 ounces.  He is 31 3/4 inches long, and his head has grown by 2 cm since his last visit.  He can still wear 12 month and 18 month pants, but is more comfy in 24 months onesies and shirts.  Also, after his doctor's appointment we went back to Stride Rite and little man's feet have grown a whole size!  He's now a 5 1/2, so we got him a new pair of sneakers in a size 6.  They're adorable and perfect for running around this summer.

Likes:  Still loves books, particularly the two Little Blue Truck books we have.  Thank goodness I saw on Amazon that they're releasing a Christmas one in September, so at least we'll have a third to add to the rotation.  Pretty sure both Chris and I almost have those books memorized.  He loves dancing, and when he really gets going his right foot will start stomping.  He loves singing, and knows all the motions to "Wheels on the Bus".  When you finish singing a song, he claps his hands and says "yay!".  Makes me feel better about my less than stellar singing voice.  :)  And did I mention climbing?  He's on EVERYTHING.  He climbs up into this high chair, onto the back of the couch, coffee table, bed, you get the idea.  It is taking years off my life, I'm sure of it.

Dislikes:  He is suddenly much more tolerant of having his bottom wiped, so hooray for that!  Hair rinsing is still the most devastating five seconds of his whole day, although the washing part is easier.

Sleeping:  He can stay up pretty late if we let him!  And it's nice that he's fairly flexible with the afternoon nap.  He can go down at 1:00, or 2:00, or anywhere in between and he's fine.

Eating:  He's doing great with a spoon and a fork.  Sort of on a veggie strike, but he will occasionally eat them.

Reading "The Little Blue Truck" (what else?) with Dad.

Loves bouncing on Dad's stomach!  (Lucky for little brother he is not interested in doing this to Mom.)

Goodnight hugs.

And more climbing.

Two peas in a pod looking for Dad.

Boxes are still great fun.

Fun at the park!  He loves to slide!

Silly, happy boy.

"Hi, mom!  More goldfish please?"

Occasionally he ditches the spoon and decides to dive in with both hands.

Showing his buddies how to climb the gate, of course.

Our 5th anniversary breakfast!

Alex loved the French toast.  :)

Anniversary dinner at Stanziato's.  Little man did well for it being a long wait.

Lighting our anniversary present to each other!  (Al was in bed by this point.)

Chris had to cut through the siding to vent the new range hood we put over the stove.  Poor Alex was TERRIFIED of the noise from the sawzall!  He is now also afraid of the leaf blower and not crazy about the vacuum cleaner.

Happy Easter!

"Did I find all the eggs?"

How dapper does he look in his Easter outfit?  Like a little golfer!
