4 Month Update

For the record, it wasn't that I wasn't impressed with Chris' four month blog post.  I'm just typically much wordier than that so I didn't want anyone to wonder about why I was suddenly writing such a succinct and to-the-point blog post!  :)

Alex and I went to his 4 month well visit at the pediatrician today!  He checked out perfectly, and once again I am so grateful we have such a healthy, happy boy.  We know we're lucky and don't take it for granted.  So here are Alexander's new stats:

Weight: 17 pounds, between 75th and 90th percentile
Length: 27 inches, between 90th and 95th percentile

Wow!  If you ask my back, he's in the 100th percentile for weight.

Dr. Cohen said we can try solid foods anytime now but it's totally up to us.  Solid foods!  I'm not ready.  Maybe in another month or so?

He also had his next round of vaccinations.  He got 2 shots in each leg, poor baby.  He went red-faced from crying as soon as they started, but stopped howling right after the last one.  Tough kid.  :)

He seemed fine all day until about 3:00 this afternoon.  He was inconsolable for about an hour so I broke down and gave him some baby tylenol.  I think it made his legs feel better and he was able to sleep for an hour.  Now he's back to his happy, playful self!

Below are some random pictures from my cell phone.  I love having my cell phone to capture everyday moments.  :)

We've been letting him sit in the highchair with us at the dinner table.  I think he enjoys being up so high.  :)

He's been a bit of a grumposaurus in the evenings. He sleeps like a champ at night but just doesn't like to nap during the day, so by the time evening rolls around he is more than ready to go back to bed.  Daylight savings definitely helped!  We could keep the 8:00 bedtime but he's much happier.  :)

We get out more than we used to.  Here we are at Target.  How adorable is my teeny shopping buddy?

He has been doing this "chillaxin'" pose a lot lately.  I think it's too cute.  The nurse at the doctor's office agreed.  :)

Baby's first swimming trunks!  We are ready for summer!

Four Months

Jess wanted to clarify that this blog post was written by Dad, because she was holding Alex.  Apparently she is not impressed.

Just last week, Alex rolled over from tummy to back.  He's ahead of the curve on this.  He also can support his head now, which means we can take him out without a stroller.

Size: 16lb 13oz.  Still big.

Likes: Tummy time.  This is new, he used to not like tummy time.  He has also started laughing and bouncing on the bouncer (suspended from a door frame).

Dislikes:  Life after 3PM.

Sleeping and Eating: He still enjoys eating.  Alex sleeps through the night, with one break at about 2AM.  His napping leaves room for improvement, albeit has begun morning napping.
