He picked me up from the airport Saturday evening and we headed right into the city for our anniversary dinner. After a quick stop at a gas station to change out of my traveling ensemble of jeans and sneakers, we drove into the East Village for an Italian dinner (to remember our Italian honeymoon). Chris had kept the restaurant a surprise until that night and he couldn't have picked a better place! We went to Spina and it was perfect. The next day, our true anniversary, we made chicken delmonico and cheddar cheese grits in honor of New Orleans. For dessert, of course, we had some of our frozen wedding cake. And I have to say, even after a long plane ride from New Orleans to NYC and a year in the freezer, it still tasted great!
